Disappointment has no place in my life.
Not because things don’t ever go wrong or because everything always goes my way, but because God is so GREAT! I used to think that disappointment was just a negative feeling that came when I don’t get what I want, but it is more than that, it is a lie!!
Disappointment says that God has been unfaithful to me and no matter what happens in my life, that will never be true. Every time something doesn’t go the way that I was hoping it would, I can stop, focus on the Lord and trust that He is going to be faithful to me through it. You know what I can expect when disappointment comes? I can expect something ABOVE and BEYOND what I could ever think or imagine! God is going to work all things together for my good and even if the enemy tries to do something to attack me, it will not prosper! God is going to fulfill every promise He has made and because of what Christ Jesus has done, there is nothing that can stop him! It’s going to blow my mind.
I’m not going to stand before the Lord at the end of time and look back over my life and justify my disappointments! “Well, Lord, you did a pretty good job being faithful to me, but that one time when I didn’t get what I was believing for, well that was disappointing.” NO! Instead, as He unfolds life’s mysteries, we’ll stand in awe of His wisdom, of His love and of His faithfulness to us, all displayedthroughout all of time and even in every detail of our own lives.
The truth is, when something is disappointing, we just do not understand what God is doing.
I guess I have worshipped understanding in the past. I have tried to find security and comfort in understanding why God was doing whatever he was doing. But I’ve come to realize that true peace and security comes from knowing He truly loves us and how BIG He is. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We’re not always going to understand, but we don’t have to. We can trust His ultimate plan of grace and salvation! God is going to do above and beyond what we could ever think or imagine. He always does what is right. He always does what is good and perfect! And we’ll stand in awe of his plan to save and deliver us in this life. He will be nothing less than faithful to us. It is who He is!
We have to remember that his plans are much greater than we can imagine. They start at the beginning of time, and through each generation He revealed more of His great love, His plan of salvation and ultimately the beautiful revelation of who He is. Every believer’s works of faith and revelations have built upon those before them and will continue to do so until we come to the end of time and in glorious triumph, HE OVERCOMES ALL. We will stand in awe of the Lord. We did not understand, we did not know it. All the time He was unfolding His plans to save and deliver, to heal and to restore! And we will see that nothing the enemy did could stop Him. Instead it all played into His hands and made His victory even more amazing.
In the mighty delivering name of the Lord God Almighty, I declare that you will no longer be deceived by disappointment! But you will believe the Lord and expect ABOVE and BEYOND what you could ever think or imagine! This is what he has prepared for you! He is working all things together for your good, and you will overcome and be completely victorious in Jesus name.
